Tamale: 2021 Northern Radio Awards Launched

Tamale, Ghana – Flawless Creations Consults has launched the 2021 edition of the Northern Radio Awards.

The launch of this years’ edition at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium over the weekend marked the 3rd in a series since its inception some four years ago.

Under the theme: “CELEBRATING THE ROLE OF RADIO JOURNALISM IN PROJECTING THE NORTHERN HERITAGE”, the Awards seeks to honour hardworking and results oriented broadcast journalists and other professionals in the radio industry across Northern Ghana.

Speaking at the launch in Tamale,  CEO of the Awards, Ms Naa Kwarley Richardson talked about the relevance of developing local content in promoting the northern heritage.

“it’s better to tell our story through our own eyes than to let the world tell our story for us.”

Ms Naa went further to remind the media houses of the growth needed to enable them to compete not just on local platforms but international platforms as well.

According to her, the scheme has decided to focus on capacity building by providing training for all participating stations including management.

Mr Mashwal Ndego a team member and Representative for the Upper East Region also encouraging all participants to focus more on the benefits of the event in terms of training rather than the entries they make into various categories of the Awards.

He explained that the focus of the event isn’t to just award but also support the cycle of change needed to grow the radio industry.

The event was graced by some media personalities such as the Chief Editor of SavannahNewsOnline.Com,  Joseph Ziem, Mr. Prince Barak of the Savannah Herald and among others.

Although the event had a late start than planned, it was a huge success.
