Tamale, Ghana –The Upper West Region has recorded 86 cases of cerebrospinal meningitis (CSM) with one death between January and April 2021, that is according to data released by the Ghana Health Service.
There is however a decline in the number of cases and deaths recorded same period in 2020. A total of 247 cases and 16 deaths were recorded last year.
A statement issued by the Upper West Region Secretariat of the Ghana Coalition of NGOs in Health is entreating the general public to report any symptoms of headache, neck pain, fever and convulsion to the nearest hospital.
