Food Scarcity in SHS: Damongo MP to The Rescue of 3 Schools

Damongo, Ghana – Member of Parliament for the Damongo Constituency in the Savannah Region, Samuel Abu Jinapor, has made a huge donation of assorted food items to some three senior high schools in the constituency.

This follows recent outcry by many headmasters and headmistresses of various schools across Northern Ghana and by large the whole country regarding shortage of food which has resulted in students starving.

The gesture by the MP thus forms part of measures to assist the students in his constituency with their feeding. It’s also to make the students feel happy and at home, so as to create a conducive learning atmosphere for effective teaching and learning.

The beneficiary schools include the Damongo Senior High School which received 20 Bags of Maize, 30 bags of rice, 10 gallons of cooking oil and 2 bulls.

Ndewura Jakpa Senior High school received 15 bags of maize, 20 bags of rice, 10 gallons of cooking and 1 bull whereas St. Anne’s Girls Senior High School received 10 bags of maize, 15 bags of rice, 10 gallons of cooking oil and 1 bull.

The food items donated totals 65 bags of rice, 35 bags of maize, 4 bulls, and 30 gallons of cooking oil.

The items were presented to the schools on behalf of Mr Jinapor by the Damongo Constituency Executives of the New Patriotic Party.

Kadiri Abdul-Rahaman, NPP Constituency Secretary, said the students were dear to the MP’s heart as they formed the cream of professionals to administer affairs of the municipality and the nation as a whole in the not too distant future.

He advised the students to be focused on their studies and not allow anything to distract them.

Students and teachers of the three schools were overly excited by the kind gesture of the MP who also doubles as the Minister for Mines and Natural Resources. They praised and prayed for him for his constant support to them.
