Ambrose Dery: The Upper West Albatross Of Our Collective Creation

AMBROSE DERY: THE UPPER WEST ALBATROSS OF OUR COLLECTIVE CREATION HAS BEEN UNDRESSED TO PETTY MINISTER.

Change can be challenging, but it also presents opportunities for growth and new beginnings.
When there’s a change in leadership or reorganization within a government, individuals in appointed positions may be reassigned to different roles or ranks. This can happen for various reasons, such as a shift in priorities, performance evaluations, or the need to align with the new administration’s goals. Reassignments can provide opportunities for individuals to gain new experiences and skills in different roles. It can also be a way for the administration to ensure that the right people are in the right positions to effectively carry out its policies and initiatives.

The Upper West Region seems to be conspicuous in the reorganization of the Nana Akufo-Addo’s government. If my opening statement is anything to be considered, is it to draw the conclusion that the Chiefs and People of the Upper West Region are not part of this new priority of the government and for which reason no individual is considered for a substantive Minister. It is in this quest that I put blame squarely on the reshuffled interior Minister Ambrose Dery for his contribution to this ridicule of the people of the Upper West Region. His doings and maneuvers have caused Upper West and as it stands now, the region has zero representation in cabinet.

Even as I blame him for his ineptitude and incompetence in building relationships and forming strong alliances within and without, we as a people of the Upper West Region are to be blamed too for our own contribution in the creation of him as an albatross on us. Why?

Ambrose Dery was nurtured by us in the environment of the Upper West Region within which he operated and grew to despise almost anybody with great potential. He became a dictator over time, the reason they call him, THE BOSS, because the people of Upper West Region created a conducive atmosphere for him and his surrogates to operate as the citizens of the region one after the other engaged in the concept of “Divide and Rule” by way of betraying each other for attention, recognition and personal gains. He was then seen as a good man but from the outside though and he got a lot of cheers from us all even including the opposition. As he implored the devil’s tactics, he provided those who fed him with what he wants to hear to destroy another fellow with the needed tools to oppress the same people he has sworn an oath to lead and serve. At a point, Ambrose Dery was the most powerful and indeed he made his hungry followers to believe that he was the most powerful in ÑPP and Nana Akufo-Addo’s government and by extension he felt he was invincible and untouchable but time they say will eventually come to an end with very bad memories. Ain’t we all surprised at the shake up government? The untouchable has fallen flat and no one dares to ask why? Today, Ambrose Dery is being reduced to nothing but an errand boy minister at the presidency. He equally is a minister at large, no office, no desk and he is at the caprices and dictates of the Presidential Staffers. A Minister in a wonderland.

But hold on, Ambrose Dery is our own creation and everybody in Upper West Region is to take a blame for this unavoidable mistake and indeed some elements within the NDC are also guilty of this conspiracy role because of how they incompetently colluded and gave power to such an undeserving man. That is how we created the albatross in the Upper West Region. Do you see the pain he has caused everyone?

Today, we are left out of government all because of this albatross in our midst who consistently used communist inferior tactics to build up a strong team of poodles and boot lickers who are willing and ready to do anything, and I mean anything to destroy build integrities. Unfortunately, the few level headed people in the region have coiled back in their fears that they are cock-mute and cannot speak against him because they are scared of him or they are simply not bothered by how decaying our political arena has become.

All in all, Mr. President, I think all isn’t lost for the people of the Upper West Region, do not be so hard on us. There are still some good and fine brains in the Dagara/Dagaaba land, reconsider your decision to neglect us. At least one person in your cabinet means a lot to us.

Don’t leave us out, Mr. President.

The Upper West deserves an Executive Minister.
