Tamale, Ghana – Chief Executive Officer of Next Door Ghana Limited, Alhaji Abdul-Majeed Issahaku and his wife, Senior Chief Officer (SCO) Majeed Mariam of the Ghana Prison Service, have donated office furniture to the Tamale Central Prison command in the Northern Region.
The items which included chairs, tables and cabinets, are to be used at newly established diagnostic centre in the Tamale Central Prison.
The furniture were donated in response to an appeal by the Northern Regional Commander’s request made to the Chief Executive Officer to support the operations of the diagnostic centre.
Presenting the items on Monday, Mrs. Mariam Majeed, commended the Northern Regional Commander of the Ghana Prison Service for his transformational agenda for the Prison.
She also commended staff of the Tamale Central Prison for their commitment and dedication to the welfare of the inmates.
“Myself and my husband believe that this donation will go a long way to improve the classification and reclassification of the inmates and perfect fulfilment of their sentence plan and goals,” she said.
Receiving the items, the Northern Regional Commander of the GPS, Deputy Director of Prison Thompson Otsyokpo on behalf of the Director-General of Prisons, thanked the CEO of Next Door Ghana Ltd and his wife for the gesture.
He also appealed to other philanthropists, faith-based organizations and non-profit organizations to emulate the example of the couple.
Mr. Otsyokpo promised to put the items into good use.
