Salaga, Ghana – A media practitioner and native of Salaga in the Northern Region, Christopher Amoako, has presented 15 ceiling fans worth Ghc1,800 to the Salaga Government Hospital.
Speaking during the presentation of the items on Wednesday May 23, 2018 at the hospital, Christopher said he took up the challenge to help improve the poor ventilation situation in the wards of the facility when he visited a patient and realised the fans were few and the cases of CSM which is contracted as a result of excessive heat, was fast spreading across the country.
“When I visited him and realised he was sweating too much, I counted the fans in that ward which were four and only two were functioning so I quickly moved to other wards and the situation was not different. Owing to the news all over the media on Celebral Spinal meningitis, I quickly started a move to getting support of ceiling fans to the hospital ” Christopher recounted.
According to him, a lot of people showed interest and only a few donated to the cause.
He appealed to his colleagues working in the media to use their influence to cause a change in their various societies.
He thanked the Managing Director of the Ghana water Company Limited, Dr. Clifford Braimah, the Member of Parliament for the Salaga South Constituency, Mr. Adam Braimah, Mr. Michael Addae Venyo, Hajia Ibrahim Zuweira, formerly Ghana’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and Dr. Musah Adamu for their support.
