Sagnarigu MCE Responds To Furniture Deficit

Sagnarigu, Ghana – The Sagnarigu Municipality, one of the fastest growing municipalities in the Northern Region has recorded furniture deficit of about 2,000 for basic schools.

As part of efforts to tackle and rectify the challenge posed by the deficit, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Miriam Iddrisu, has presented 40 dual desks to the Our Lady of Fatima Basic School.

According to the MCE, other basic schools within the municipality will equally receive their fair share of furniture from her outfit.

The MCE said the assembly had acquired 200 dual desks for this quarter and plans to make same every quarter until the deficit was rectified in the municipality.

The first set of dual desks is expected to be presented to 10 schools which are seriously in need of the furniture.

She called on stakeholders in the municipality and NGOs to support the assembly in dealing with the scarcity of furniture in the catchment area to improve the quality of education in the municipality.
