Demonstration to Rock Ghana Health Service in Bole

Bole, Ghana – A Bole based pressure group called Constituency Watch Bole-Bamboi in collaboration with Bole based Nkilgi FM are organising the first ever demonstration in Bole next Saturday 14th July, 2018 and have already notified the police in Bole.

The demonstration is against the Bole District Director of Ghana Health Service Madam Elisabeth Tigaa for what the pressure group described as “some unprofessionalism and self interest in the administration of the Ghana Health Service in Bole District”

Enquiries by Savannahnewsonline.com indicate that even though the real reason for the demonstration which promises to be massive has not been stated in the letter to the police, it is being organised because Madam Elisabeth Tigaa has sued Bole based Nkilgi FM at a Tamale High Court for broadcasting the contents of a letter from the pressure group that accused the Bole District Director of Ghana Health Service of some malfeasance and unprofessionalism.

There is tension in Bole as the people cannot come to terms with the fact that the Ghana Health Service Director has sued the radio station in court with some of the youth threatening to chase Madam Elisabeth Tigaa out of Bole because they interpret her action as sending the whole Bole community to court.

Nkilgi FM has a massive listership and a huge and loyal audience in the Bole, Sawla-Tuna-Kabla, and parts of West Gonja and Central Gonja Districts of the Northern Region because of its catchy social programmes, prompt breaking news and exposures of the ills in Bole area.

Moreover Nkilgi FM captured the hearts and minds of the people of Bole because it has been mobilising hundreds of the people for community self- help projects notably being the desilting and clearing all choked gutters of Bole; a construction project to increase the height of gutters of the Central Business Area of Bole; the clean up of the Bole market, the spraying and clearing of all weeds at the main cemetery and even went to the extent of soliciting funds from the public to build a single room for a man whose house was destroyed by a heavy rainstorm.

Savannahnewsonline.com found out that in May, 2018 the Bole District Director of Ghana Health Service served a notice of intention to initiate legal proceedings to claim damages for defamation after Nkilgi FM read the said letter from the pressure group on their morning show and has now carried through her intention.

Savannahnewsonline.com can report that some Chiefs and opinion leaders in Bole are frantically working to stop the demonstration since according to them Bole is a peaceful town and has never witnessed a demonstration.

They also said they will approach the Bole District Director of Ghana Health Service Madam Elisabeth Tigaa to withdraw the case in court for an amicable settlement.

Below is the letter notifying police of the demonstration
