Court Remands Alleged Murderers of Sagnarigu Pastor

Tamale, Ghana –  Alleged murderers of Sagnarigu based End Time Bible Believers Fellowship head pastor, Dogyi Kwame, 28 and Akwasi Obio, 21, have been remanded into prison custody by a Tamale High Court.

Presiding Judge, Justice Edward Apemkwa on Tuesday remanded the accused persons into prison custody to reappear before the court on April 24, 2018.

Dokyi and Obio, both students of the Tamale Technical University (TaTU) who are facing the charge of conspiracy and murder of Pastor Ocean have pleaded not guilty.

Their lawyer, Halid Abdul Rauf, told the court that at the appropriate time he would prove the innocence of the accused persons.

Principal State Attorney, Salia Abdul Qudus who presented the facts of the case said the prosecution has nine witnesses to call at the next sitting.

On November 9, 2017, Dogyi and Kwame around 11am reportedly attacked Pastor Ocran at Kumbuyili, near Malshegu in the Sagnarigu Municipality.

Police report said the deceased was stabbed with a knife in the chest and clubbed on the head with a pestle, killing him instantly.

The police said after the act the accused persons also stole a Samsung Galaxy phone, an amount of GH₵200.0 0 and a Toyota Highlander 4×4 vehicle with registration number GN 1763-14.
